Privacy Policy for LiteSurvey Pro

LiteSurvey Pro is provided by Woncan (Hong Kong) Limited, doing business as Woncan ("Woncan," "we," "us," or "our").
This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when you use LiteSurvey Pro and related application services. It applies to the LiteSurvey Pro mobile application. It does not govern purchases or other activity on the Woncan online store, which is covered by the store's separate privacy policy.
1. Information We Process
Depending on the platform, features, equipment, and services you use, LiteSurvey Pro may process the following categories of information.
Survey and Project Information
This may include projects, survey points, coordinates, measurements, tracks, attributes, notes, equipment and coordinate-system configurations, photos, attachments, and imported or exported files.
Survey information may include coordinates reported by a phone, tablet, or connected GNSS receiver, as well as locations selected on a map.
Account and Collaboration Information
Some cloud, synchronization, backup, restoration, or collaboration features may require account, organization, workspace, or access-control information. The information requested will depend on the feature being used.
Device, Application, and Receiver Information
We may process device and application information such as device identifiers, device model, operating-system version, application version, build number, language, network and request information, and service responses.
When you connect compatible equipment, we may also process information about that equipment, such as its model, serial or device number, firmware version, capabilities, connection status, operating information, and related technical or diagnostic information.
Location, Maps, and Search Information
LiteSurvey Pro processes location and coordinate information to provide surveying, mapping, coordinate-system, place-search, address, and related functions. Depending on the feature, a coordinate, search request, map interaction, or related technical information may be processed by Woncan or an applicable mapping, geocoding, or search provider.
Support and Communications
If you contact us, we may process your contact details, correspondence, and information you provide so that we can respond, investigate problems, and provide support.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain LiteSurvey Pro and its features
- Store, synchronize, back up, restore, migrate, export, or share information as directed by the applicable feature or user
- Connect to and support compatible GNSS receivers and related equipment
- Display maps, search for places, provide address information, and recommend coordinate reference systems
- Check compatibility, application versions, firmware, and equipment capabilities
- Diagnose problems, provide support, protect services, and prevent misuse
- Improve application compatibility, performance, reliability, and user experience
- Comply with applicable obligations and enforce our terms
Woncan does not sell personal information or use survey project content for targeted advertising.
3. Local and Cloud Storage
LiteSurvey Pro stores application and survey information on your device. Depending on the features available to you and the choices you make, information may also be processed or stored using Woncan-operated or contracted cloud services. Cloud processing may support functions such as synchronization, backup, restoration, migration, collaboration, support, security, and service continuity.
Photos and other project attachments are stored locally unless you use a feature that synchronizes, backs up, exports, shares, or otherwise transfers them.
Information may also leave the device when a network-enabled feature requires it or when you export or share information using a system or third-party service. Information sent to a destination selected by you is subject to the destination provider's terms and privacy practices.
4. Maps, Places, and Device Services
Depending on the mobile platform and features used, LiteSurvey Pro may use services provided by Google, Apple, the operating system or service provider for your phone or tablet, or another mapping or geocoding provider.
These providers may process coordinates, search text, place requests, map interactions, IP addresses, device and application information, pseudonymous identifiers, request information, and diagnostic information to provide and maintain their services. Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

LiteSurvey Pro does not use map-selected locations for targeted advertising.
5. Woncan Online Services
Certain functions communicate with Woncan services. For example, LiteSurvey Pro may process coordinates to recommend coordinate reference systems, check application or firmware information, support connected equipment, maintain compatibility, provide cloud features, or protect and troubleshoot the services.
Communications with Woncan web services use encrypted HTTPS connections where supported by the relevant service. Standard network and security information, such as IP address, request time, request type, and service response information, may be processed in connection with these requests.
6. NTRIP and User-Selected Services
LiteSurvey Pro allows you to configure and connect to NTRIP services. When NTRIP position transmission is enabled, the position reported by the connected GNSS receiver may be transmitted to the NTRIP service selected by you. This is not necessarily the same as a location manually selected on the map.
Information transmitted in connection with NTRIP may include the service address, port, mountpoint, account or authentication information, receiver NMEA/GGA position, and technical connection information. Connection profiles and credentials may be stored locally or transferred to compatible connected equipment when required to provide the selected function.
The NTRIP provider is selected by you, and its handling of information is governed by its own terms and privacy practices. NTRIP connections may provide different levels of security and may not be encrypted, depending on the provider, equipment, protocol, and connection method.
7. Application Permissions
Depending on the platform and features you use, LiteSurvey Pro may request access to:
- Location: to obtain or use a device or receiver position and provide surveying and mapping functions
- Nearby devices, Bluetooth, or local network: to discover and communicate with compatible equipment
- Camera: to capture photos associated with projects or records
- Photos, media, files, or storage: to import, save, export, or share user-selected content
- Notifications and foreground services: to support active operations that must continue or remain visible while the relevant feature is running
Permissions are used for the associated application functions. You can manage permissions in system settings, although disabling a permission may prevent the corresponding feature from working.
8. When Information Is Shared
We may disclose information:
- To mapping, geocoding, place-search, hosting, storage, security, diagnostics, support, and other service providers that help operate LiteSurvey Pro
- To an NTRIP or other external service selected or configured by you
- To a destination or recipient selected by you when you export, synchronize, or share information
- To an organization, workspace, or collaborator when you use a collaboration feature
- In connection with a corporate transaction, subject to appropriate protection of the information
- When required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, Woncan, our services, or the public
Service providers acting for Woncan are permitted to process information for the services they provide to us.
9. Retention and Deletion
Information stored locally remains on the device until it is deleted through LiteSurvey Pro or the device's storage controls. Clearing application storage or uninstalling the application may remove information held in private application storage. Exported or shared copies may remain in other locations until deleted separately.
Information processed by Woncan cloud services is retained for as long as reasonably needed to provide the applicable feature, maintain security and business records, resolve disputes, comply with applicable obligations, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary according to the type of information and service. Information may remain for a limited period in backups, security records, or logs before being deleted or anonymized through normal retention cycles.
Some cloud or collaboration features may provide controls for deleting information or closing an account or workspace. You may also contact us regarding information under Woncan's control. We may request limited information needed to locate the relevant records and verify the request.
Information sent to a user-selected provider or recipient is controlled by that party and must be managed through that party or service.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information under our control. The measures used depend on the nature of the information and the service involved.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. In particular, connections to services selected or configured by the user, including NTRIP services, may provide different levels of protection.
11. International Processing
Woncan and its service providers may process information in countries or regions outside your place of residence. The location of processing may depend on the service, provider, equipment, and features you use. Where required, we use appropriate measures for international transfers.
Services selected by you, including NTRIP providers and export or sharing destinations, may process information in locations determined by those providers.
12. Children's Privacy
LiteSurvey Pro is a professional surveying application and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly use children's personal information for advertising or profiling. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to Woncan, contact us so that we can review the circumstances and take appropriate action.
13. Your Choices and Rights
You can choose whether to use optional cloud, mapping, place-search, NTRIP, export, and sharing functions. You can also manage application permissions through your device settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information under Woncan's control, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of certain information, or to object to certain processing. 14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when LiteSurvey Pro's features, information practices, or applicable requirements change. The current version will be published at the application's privacy-policy URL with an updated date. We may provide additional notice of material changes through the application or an applicable distribution platform.
